Roof Condition Certifications Broward County
Have you received a letter from your insurance company informing you that they require a roof condition certification for your home? This can happen with older homes if the roof is original or if the owner cannot prove a replacement with a building permit. Usually, you will not be allowed much time to respond or they will raise the rates substantially or even cancel your policy. Citizens no longer accepts the Uniform Mitigation Verification Inspection Form for documentation of roof condition when the home is above a certain age. Additionally, for homes more than 30 years old, one of the following documents must be submitted to prove the condition of the roof:
The inspection form must be dated within the last 12 months prior to the submission date to insurance company and signed by a verifiable Florida-licensed professional.
For homes more than 30 years old, one of the following documents must be submitted to provide proof of full-roof replacement:
